The big mover (ok, besides the Pokémon preload) in the North American eShops this week is Mario Party: Star Rush. Daan reviewed the European version, and it sounds like there’s actually some fresh ideas to go along with the selling of the new Mario line of amiibo in North America. If you’re wondering about how it plays – and know someone locally who dove in – there’s also a special “Party Guest” app that lets you experience all of the game’s multiplayer.

On the smaller download front, there’s another NWR-connected game out this week in the form of Twisted Fusion. Its developer, Lewis Pugh, has made a couple of appearances on Radio Free Nintendo, and I actually tried to back the game on Kickstarter but couldn’t get my card to go through. The Virtual Console adds a couple of games on Wii U as EAD Tokyo’s only non-Mario game releases as New Play Control Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, and White Mage dunks all over everything in Mario Hoops: 3-on-3.

Since Europe showed up to the party last month, it gets the Sega 3D Classics Collection – some of the best Sega games ever, and Altered Beast, all in one download. Its Virtual Console gets some boost power with F-Zero X, and previously-Japan exclusive Mario’s Super Picross releases on New 3DS because that platform doesn’t have enough Picross games on it.
