Take Xbox down to the paradise city.
Microsoft has revealed the free lineup of games that will be available for Xbox One and Xbox 360 players in Decembers as part of Games with Gold.
The full list and periods of availability to download these games for free are:
- Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition — December 1-31, Xbox One
- Outlast — December 16 – January 15, Xbox One
- Outland — December 1-15, Xbox 360 and Xbox One
- Burnout Paradise — December 16-31, Xbox 360 and Xbox One
The definitive edition of Sleeping Dogs, which IGN called a great opportunity for those who didn’t play the game when it first released in 2012, features a remaster of the main game along with 24 pieces of DLC that were released to complement the story of a Hong Kong undercover detective.
Survival horror game Outlast puts players in the shoes of an investigative journalist exploring the dangerous halls of an asylum. IGN gave the game a 7.8 when it first released, calling it a “unique and terrifying” horror experience. A sequel to Outlast was delayed to 2017 earlier this year, though a demo that was exclusively available during the month of October offered players a taste of the horrors to come in Outlast 2.
Outland, from Resogun developer Housemarque, is a 2D platformer that tasks players with balancing the use of two different forces — one red and one blue — to solve puzzles and defeat enemies in their way. IGN gave the game a 9.0 when it debuted in 2011.
Finally, Burnout Paradise will be available for Games with Gold players on 360 and Xbox One, which finally makes the game backward compatible more than a year after developer Criterion Games confirmed that backward compatibility was in the works. IGN gave the open-world racing game an 8.8 when it first released, saying the changes made to the franchise once again delivered on the fun, “controlled chaos” the series is known for.
Don’t forget that one of last month’s free games — Murdered: Soul Suspect — remains free until December 15 as well.
