We scream, Tattletail screams…

Tattletail is a throwback to a simpler time, when movies came on VHS tapes and we all wanted that hot new talking animal toy.

The game puts you in the role of an insolent child who opens their Christmas present five terrible days early. This is a mistake: the nightmare toy, Tattletail, sets off a chain of events that results in the discontinued Mama Tattletail stalking you in the night.

Jeff Ramos and I sat down on one chilly, miserable Friday morning to enjoy this terrifying game. Watching this footage back, it doesn’t even look that scary! I can assure you, the feelings of fear and dread were very real. Particularly when the jump scares start coming.

Tattletail becomes not just an avoiding-horrible-creature game, but a resource management game as well. The titular Tattletail beast-toy needs to be fed, groomed, and charged. If he isn’t, he will scream! And if he screams, Mama Tattletail will hear!

Despite this, I feel myself warming to my yelling robot son. I want to protect him from his bad mom. Check out the video above to see Jeff and I go on an emotional journey from being scared, to being even more scared and hating our lives.
