<p>Video games are increasingly being utilized as <a href="http://ift.tt/2iCRYLI">tools for learning</a>, healing and sharing political ideas. A forthcoming book will seek to chronicle how games are being put to work.</p>
<p>“Power Play: How Video Games Can Save the World“<em> </em>is due to be released on Jan. 31. Written by <a href="http://ift.tt/1hdNE0K">Games for Change</a> chairman Asi Burak, along with journalist Laura Parker, it offers various examples of how games are being utilized for good. </p>
<p>These stories include a game that teaches civics to middle school students as well as one that helps children who are undergoing treatment for cancer. </p>
<p><a href="http://ift.tt/zT512F">Games for Change </a>is an organization that &quot;facilitates the creation and distribution of social impact games that serve as critical tools in humanitarian and educational efforts&quot; according to its mission statement. It also holds live events, including an annual festival, due to be held this year in New York from July 31 to Aug. 1.</p>
