The eighth wave of Lego Dimensions packs will release May 9 in the US, and May 12 in the UK.
Wave Eight features the likes of The Goonies, Harry Potter, and Lego City.
The Goonies level pack sees players helping Sloth and Chunk escape the Fratelli hideout to re-join the rest of the Goonies crew, and comes with a rebuildable One-Eyed Willy pirate ship, which can be reconstructed as a skeleton jukebox or a skeleton organ.
For Harry Potter fans comes the Hermione Granger fun pack, which comes with a 3-in-1 Buckbeak the Hippogriff(!!!). Granger is equipped with the spells Wingardium Leviosa and Lumos, while placing her on the portal unlocks the Harry Potter battle arena.
The Lego City fun pack offers the chance to play as Chase McCain, who can break silver lego bricks and put out flames with his water beam. He also comes armed with a detective scanner which tracks down bad dudes and lets McCain change into disguises. On the vehicle front, the McCain minifig comes with a buildable Police chopper that can transform into either a hovercraft or plane.
Lego Dimensions’ diverse cast of characters continues to expand. So far we’ve seen the likes of B.A. Baracus from A-Team, Gizmo from Gremlins, and even Sonic the Hedgehog, all in continuity-breaking escapades. In our review, we said “Lego Dimensions’ kitchen-sink approach to packing its worlds full of great characters and fun references consistently left me with a big dumb grin on my face.”
