A new Pokemon game for iOS and Android has been announced for Japan. As revealed by The Pokemon Company, the game is called Hanero! Koiking, which translates to Splash! Magikarp.

A teaser site for the game is all there is to go on at the moment. According to Kotaku, the game may focus on the the Pokemon Magikarp, as the teaser page contains a newspaper article that shows the image below of two Magikarp-shaped holes in the ground. These were discovered by a 27-year-old fisherman in an odd place: the middle of a town.

The new Pokemon mobile game comes out in Spring 2017 for iOS and Android in Japan; there is no word yet on a release in other markets. Unfortunately, we don’t know anything about the gameplay.

It’s no surprise that The Pokemon Company is planning more Pokemon mobile games. The latest one, was Pokemon Duel. Before that was Pokemon Go, which became a worldwide phenomenon and remains one of the highest-grossing apps. A new update for the game this week will add 80 new Pokemon and new gameplay features.
