The just-released Switch versions of World of Goo and Human Resource Machine demonstrate another way the system’s Joy-Con controllers can be used.

In addition to holding them vertically or horizontally to serve as a traditional controller, the Joy-Con can essentially serve as a Wii remote. As seen in the video below (via Reddit), both games allows you to aim at your TV (or the system’s screen itself) using the Joy-Con. Despite the exaggerated arm movements, smaller gestures seem to work just fine, too. Due to seemingly using the controller’s gyroscope, a sensor bar isn’t needed, as on the Wii.

Using a Joy-Con in this way first requires you to lay it down on a flat surface. Pressing the Plus button allows you to reorient its aim on the center of the screen during gameplay. This potentially allows you to orient it in a way that doesn’t require you to aim at the screen itself, should you want to do that for some reason.

World of Goo and Human Resource Machine were two of three new Switch releases today alongside Little Inferno. They’ll be followed tomorrow by The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+.
