How to clean up those hastily-spent skill points

We’ve all been there. Those skills you spent points on early in a game turn out to be useless, and you’re at such a high level that new skill points are few and far between. The good news is you’re not locked into those ill-advised early choices. Mass Effect: Andromeda doesn’t ever come right out and tell you about this , but there’s a readily-accessible mechanic to wipe clean your skill trees and start over.

The Tempest’s med bay is on the bottom deck of the ship. (It’s near the galley and Pathfinder’s quarters, directly across from the crew quarters. Use your map — there’s something about the ship’s design that feels oddly labyrinthine at times.)

Head into the med bay and either talk to Lexi about whatever she needs from you or ignore her. Turn to your left and head for the wall. There’s a display there that you can interact with, conveniently named re-spec station.

Your first re-spec will cost you 20 credits, and the cost of subsequent do-overs will keep increasing (the second time costs 500 credits). When you interact with the station, you choose which character to re-spec. There’s no subtlety here — paying that cash completely resets the character’s skill tree and gives you back all of the points.
