<p>The figure was revealed in the company&#8217;s <a target="_blank" href="http://ift.tt/2odutzg">2016 financial report</a>, which cited over 1 billion PLN (over $250 million USD) in cumulative revenue from The Witcher 3 and its two expansion packs: Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine.
</p>
<p>The first game in The Witcher series was released in 2007. A sequel, Assassins of Kings, followed in 2011, with Wild Hunt rounding out Geralt of Rivia&#8217;s trilogy in 2015. In addition to its commercial success — selling <a target="_blank" href="http://ift.tt/1LB9iwo">6 million copies in its first 6 weeks</a> — The Witcher 3 released to critical acclaim, earning <a target="_blank" href="http://ift.tt/1IRXplk">IGN&#8217;s 2015 Game of the Year</a> award.
