While technically the Games with Gold April titles would have been the first new Backwards Compatible titles available for many to download this month, today saw Microsoft confirm more new games for release.

Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution and Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet are coming to Xbox One Backward Compatibility today.

Microsoft made the announcement on Twitter within the hour, with Civilization Revolution by far the biggest of the two.

The Civ title has more than 22,000 votes for its official inclusion in the program on the leaderboards, while Insanely Twisted has less than 1K.

“Sid Meier brings the greatest strategy game of all time to the Xbox 360 console,” the official game description reads.

“Built from the ground up for the Xbox 360 console, Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution challenges you to lead your chosen nation from the dawn of man to the space age on your quest to rule the world.”

It has quite a high average review score, earning an 84% rating on metacritic, with Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet averaging at 76%.

“In this Insanely Twisted, 2-D action-adventure game, explore unique environments and battle bizarre creatures as you make your way toward the center of the mysterious Shadow Planet.

“Solve complex puzzles and upgrade your ship with alien technology as you fight to save your home world. Featuring both local and Xbox LIVE multiplayer game modes.”

March proved a busy month for the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility program, with a total of 17 games from Microsoft, a good amount for anyone who is a fan of the program.

Like most months, it was a mix of some most-wanted titles and others which hadn’t made it very high on the official voted leaderboards.

The standout picks came in the last few weeks, with Far Cry 3, Assassin’s Creed Revelations and Darksiders 2 all making their debuts.

Street Fighter IV was another sought after game that can now be played on the Xbox One, with the tech giant managing to offer a good mix of different game-types throughout the month.

Soltrio Solitaire, Army of Two and Far Cry 3 were the last three games released by Microsoft in March, and it appears there are more plans afoot for April.
