The courses on offer are Games Design, Game Programming and Developing Games for Xbox One. Each one lasts three hours and after students are finished, they can then pursue the lessons learned further through other official courses offered by AIE.

Xbox Academy, unlike these other courses, is entirely free, with the Microsoft Store footing the bill. The courses have been timed to coincide with the Easter holidays in Australia to encourage as many young people as possible to sign up.

In each class, students are provided with a Microsoft Surface tablet for note-taking and an Xbox One S.

The Microsoft Store expects 120 prospective students, and classes will run from April 10 until April 22.
