A closer look at the fighting game’s unlockable loot

Injustice 2 is adding a new system that will let players collect and equip gear that’s not just cosmetic, but will also affect each hero’s and villain’s abilities. A new trailer for the DC Universe fighting game goes into detail about how this system will work, while also showing off the visual variety of Injustice 2’s gear.

Gear in Injustice 2 will modify four stats: strength, ability, defense and health. Gear will also provide other augmentations, like the ability to earn more in-game currency or reduce damage received from the game’s violent stage transitions. Players will also receive additional perks when wearing full sets of a specific type of gear.

As seen in the trailer above, the fighting game’s gear will tap into DC Comics fans’ nostalgia, giving heroes and villains alternate costumes that reference classic storylines.
