Please make this happen, Dan Harmon

With the new Thor: Ragnarok trailer that dropped yesterday, we got another look at Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster. Rick and Morty fans were quick to point out that he bears a striking resemblance to a member of the Council of Ricks.

When Goldblum’s Grandmaster debuted last month, people were immediately taken by his appearance. It’s whimsical and carried in a way that only Goldblum could pull off. It’s just weird enough to be compared with characters from other TV shows and movies. None were as immediately apparent as the Council of Ricks from Rick and Morty.

Versions of Goldblum’s photo from Ragnarok were altered to make him a member of the Council, while others just pieced together side-by-side comparisons of the two characters.

In Rick and Morty, the Council of Ricks is a governing body that presides over all the Ricks in reality. The council was originally formed as a way to protect the different Ricks from other dimensions to ensure that different enemies couldn’t attack alternate Ricks. The council member that most Rick and Morty fans seem to be drawing comparisons to is Riq IV, who also serves as a spokesperson for the council.

Although Riq IV only appears in a couple of Rick and Morty episodes, he does have a primary role in Pocket Mortys, the mobile game based on Rick and Morty. Riq IV is the final boss that players need to defeat in order to beat the game.

Goldblum doesn’t have any connection to the Rick and Morty universe, and the actor has never worked with series’ co-creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon. At least fans will be able to go into Thor: Ragnarok and imagine for a couple of hours of what could have been.

Thor: Ragnarok will be released on Nov. 3.
