It’s a good time to catch up
May marks the season of watching new seasons of popular Netflix original series and catching up with the shows making headlines right now.
The third season of Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt will finally premiere this month. Last season ended with an emotional rollercoaster. Kimmy heard from Richard Wayne Gary Wayne, otherwise known as the man who kidnapped her more than a decade ago. Kimmy’s landlord, Lillian, was taking on the recent gentrification affecter her corner in Brooklyn. Tidus was dealing with the intensity associated with his first serious boyfriend. Let’s just say there was a lot going on. This new season will expand on those storylines, but most importantly, will see Kimmy fight against her captor for the first time since the series began. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’s third season will be available to stream as of May 19.
On Amazon, the Oscar-winning Manchester by the Sea will finally be available to stream. The film follows the life of a depressed man and his nephew after they’re forced to live together following the death of the young man’s father. It’s grim and tough to watch, but the script is one of the best.
Over at Hulu, it’s a good time to throw on some documentaries and movies you may have missed. Hardcore Henry, a violent action romp filmed from a first-person perspective, will be available to stream for those who didn’t get a chance to see it in theaters. Documentaries like Batman & Bill, which takes a look at the life and career of Batman co-creator Bill Finger, will also be available to stream.
Over at HBO Now, it’s a great time to catch up on some of last year’s movies that are finally coming to the streaming service. Tom Hanks’ Sully and Matt Damon’s Jason Bourne will both be available to stream next month.
