April is turning out to be a bumper month for Xbox One Backwards Compatibility games, with nine new titles confirmed just this week.

It was all kicked off by Microsoft on Tuesday, with three new games being announced by Xbox’s Larry Hryb on Twitter.

The Xbox 360’s 3D Ultra Minigolf, TimeShift and Commanders: Attack were all added to the game collections of those who bought or purchased the title’s online.

Alternatively, anyone who owns a physical copy can also install it on their Xbox One by inserting the disc.

Timeshift was the most voted for by fans out of the three new, earning just under 1500 requests.

However, the next batch announced on Thursday would prove much more exciting for fans.

A total of six new Backward Compatible titles were revealed by Hryb, this time more of an eclectic mix.

Arcade fans can now play Assault Heroes 2, while those who favour hunting games can now return to Cabela’s Survival: SoK, Cabela’s Hunting Expeditions, Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts 2013 and Alaskan Adventures.

The two games that got the most attention were Dead Space 2 and Dead Space 3. All three of the main titles in the series are now available to play on Xbox one and have a combined vote total of just under 110,000 on the official leaderboards.

Fans can also enjoy Dead Space Ignition, which was added to the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility at a much earlier date.

So far, April has also seen the launch of seven other Xbox One Backward Compatibility games, including: Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution, Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, RoboBlitz, Golf: Tee It Up!, Gin Rummy, Contra.

The biggest so far has been Black Ops 2, the most voted for by fans and probably one of the last big titles to make its debut.

With BO2 now backwards compatible, fans have turned their attention to the likes of Skyrim, Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3 and Batman: Arkham City.

Microsoft say they plan to continue expanding the Backwards Compatible games available on the Xbox One, with no clear end date given for when they might stop.

The tech giant has even gone as far as to pledge that because of the Universal Windows Platform, the BC program will likely be available on all future Microsoft consoles.

Another good way for expanding your collection of BC titles for free is by checking the Games with Gold roster each month.

Games with Gold May 2017 is set to include four new titles to download, two on Xbox One and another two on Xbox 360.

And like usual, all four will be available to download as part of the Xbox One Backward Compatibility program.

This month, Microsoft are offering up Giana Sisters: Twisted Dream’s – Director’s Cut from May 1 – 31, followed by the co-op adventure Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris on May 16 – June 15.

These are set to be released on Monday, May 1, giving fans a little bit of time to grab any remaining April titles they may have missed so far.
