Xbox One Scorpio fans would pay a high price for this useful new feature.

Custom Project Scorpio consoles are currently in the hands of developers, complete with an OLED display that measures frame rates in real-time.

This lets developers see how smoothly their games are running on the new hardware.

It’s highly unlikely this tool will make it to the final version of the new Xbox One, although fans would no doubt love to know how their hardware is performing.

The dev kits also provide fans with an idea about what the final hardware might look like.

It’s good news for fans of the Xbox One S, as the new console looks remarkably like last year’s sleek hardware refresh.

Microsoft is expected to unveil the Xbox Scorpio in full at the E3 gaming expo, where the price and release date are likely to be announced.

Microsoft’s E3 conference takes place on Sunday, June 11 at 10pm UK time.

Microsoft also needs to unveil some blockbuster new games, or the Xbox Scorpio could have a huge problem when the holiday 2017 release date rolls around.

It was recently confirmed that no new triple-A Halo games will launch for Xbox One this year.

That’s according to Halo franchise director Frank O’Connor, who told GamesTM that the team won’t be releasing anything this holiday season.

“This holiday we don’t have a huge triple-A individual game coming out, so this year can be a good year to get our heads down on the next big things.

It was also suggested that the Xbox Scorpio could launch with a higher price in the UK.

Speaking to MCV, Garry Williams of Sold Out Sales and Marketing has speculated that the console could cost as much as £499 if Microsoft uses Brexit as an excuse to go higher in the UK.

“The specs suggest a £449 level – this is perceived as a higher tier machine,” Williams said. “But with Brexit as an excuse to go higher, migrating console pricing towards the level of a higher end PC must be one goal, so maybe even £499.”

Actionacy’s games marketing consultant Christian-Peter Heimbach believes that the Xbox Scorpio will be bundled with Forza, and that fans will pay more for a premium product.
