Grey Box, publisher of Tequila Works’ upcoming Rime, has announced some changes to the game’s price on the Nintendo Switch, after it was initially revealed the game would cost more on Nintendo’s new console than on other platforms.

In a new blog post, Grey Box revealed that the digital version of Rime on Switch will now cost $29.99 / €34.99 / £29.99, as opposed to the originally revealed $39.99 / €44.99 / £39.99 price point. That puts the digital version of Rime on Switch in line with the physical and digital editions’ prices on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

The physical version of Rime on Switch, however, will remain at the $39.99 / €44.99 / £39.99 price, which Grey Box explains is “due to the additional development, manufacturing, and publishing costs involved with that port,” and so the publisher cannot “lower the price without selling at a loss.” To offset that higher price, Switch physical copies of Rime will also come with a download code for composer David García’s Rime soundtrack, which will otherwise be sold separately for $10. The download will be available via Bandcamp “in one of the multiple high-quality formats.”

“At Grey Box, we are determined to provide a fair deal for everyone around. And so we discussed how we could do that, without simply selling at a loss, all while also being fair to our retail partners,” the publisher explained.

The discrepancy in price point was revealed when Grey Box and Tequila Works announced Rime’s May 26 release date for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The Switch version currently does not have a release date. The game is currently available for preorder .

Rime was re-revealed as a multiplatform title earlier this year as part of our IGN First Rime coverage, which included a look at new gameplay, a Q&A with the game’s developers, and more. IGN also had another chance recently to preview Rime.

Tequila Works also recently released The Sexy Brutale, which IGN gave an 8.2, calling the game “a time-twisting puzzle box worth losing a few hours in.”
