The newly-announced PC version of Destiny 2 has no confirmed release date, and may arrive after the PS4 and Xbox One versions have launched on September 8.

The game’s FAQ page on Battle.net is a little hazy on a release date, reading: “Bungie is actively working through the global details. We look forward to sharing additional information later this year.”

When asked by PC Gamer to clarify a date, game director Luke Smith said: “We haven’t committed to a PC date yet. At Bungie, we are totally committed to making the PC build as great as we can […] and we want to make sure this version of the game has the time it needs to bake in the oven so it’s a delicious piece of bread when it comes out.”

It’s unclear if this will change when PC players will get access to the Destiny 2 beta, which is slated to arrive this summer for all three platforms.

It’s a slightly disappointing addendum to an otherwise promising new platform – the PC version will support 4K resolution, allow for uncapped frame rates and feature more graphical settings than console versions.

The PC version will also launch – in a digital form – exclusively through Battle.net. It’s the first non-Blizzard game to become available through the app.
