The wait continues.
The first part of Final Fantasy VII Remake may still be a ways off from release, if recruitment messages from the core staff behind the project are any indication.
Several members from Square Enix’s Business Division 1, including director director Tetsuya Nomura, producer Yoshinori Kitase and development leader Naoki Hamaguchi, posted recruitment letters on Square Enix’s official site. According to Nomura’s message, translation courtesy of Siliconera, the team is “urgently” seeking additional talent to join the development team.
“As those of you concerned with the industry may already know, the number of domestic staff is significantly lower compared to that of foreign high-definition developers,” Nomura said. “Therefore, in order to further strengthen the development of this title, we must urgently recruit as much staff as possible.”
Earlier this year, Nomura spoke to the status of his two upcoming titles, saying both Kingdom Hearts III and FFVII Remake “still have a way to go” before either title is ready for release.
In Kitase recruitment message, he said the team is striving “to surpass the original work in terms of quality by increasing the number of staff to strengthen the core company development,” noting they are now moving “into the development progress phase.”
