“You think I’m weak because I’m not like you.”
God of War for PS4 will be released in early 2018, Sony confirmed during its E3 2017 press conference.
An extended trailer and gameplay montage balanced an emphasis on Kratos’ journey with his son Atreus along with a showcase of the hack-and-slash combat the God of War franchise is known for.
Sony first revealed the new God of War at its last E3 press conference, revealing the game’s introduction of Norse mythology. The game’s debut trailer also included secrets fans discovered shortly after its reveal. Fans also discovered the name of Kratos’ son featured in the trailer via an MP3 file.
IGN had a chance to speak with the game’s creative director, Cory Barlog, at last year’s E3. A new voice actor for Kratos was confirmed at last year’s E3. Sony Santa Monica once considered Egyptian mythology for the game rather than the Norse-focus it now has.
Barlog also discussed last year how the game won’t feature multiplayer and will not be Kratos’ last adventure.
