The Xbox One X Pre Order product pages may have gone live but that doesn’t mean you can actually nab one yet.

For anyone interested in getting the upgraded console early, the gap between the full announcement and release date has become quite real.

Many times, when a new product is revealed, retailers will put Pre Order pages live. This happened with the Xbox One X, however, fans cannot actually use them yet.

The reason for this has been explained and boils down to one simple fact, the console hasn’t been approved for sale yet.

As the official Microsoft website confirms, sales cannot begin until this has happened and isn’t something out of the ordinary.

“This device has not been approved by the Federal Communications Commission. It is not for sale until FCC approval has been obtained.”

The PlayStation 4 had a similar situation, having been announced in February, fans had to wait until July to actually put money down on one.

Microsoft have already confirmed that they will start rolling out pre orders later this year, although a wait time has not been revealed.

UK retailer GAME has posted an update on their website saying that Xbox One X Pre Orders will be coming “soon”.

Horizon Zero Dawn‘s success may have inspired Microsoft to follow suit with an Xbox One X rival.

It looks like Microsoft is planning to release its very own sprawling adventure game similar to the PlayStation 4 exclusive.

That’s according to a new Microsoft job ad for a lead environment artist for a new triple-A blockbuster.

The job listing was posted on the LinkedIn profile of Microsoft’s Sandor Roberts.

“Looking for Lead Environment Artist for Microsoft AAA Nextgen Title,” the post reads. “Style: similar to Horizon Zero Dawn.”

The stunning Sony exclusive is the perfect showcase of the PS4 Pro. Check out the Photo Mode screenshots below for a look at how good Horizon Zero Dawn looks in 4K.

It’s likely Microsoft wants something similar to show off the power of the Xbox One X.

Xbox One X will be without one of Microsoft’s flagship titles for quite some time.

It’s bad news for Halo fans, who have been told by 343 Industries that Halo 6 won’t be announced any time soon.

“While there’s little to nothing that can be said on that front, it’s been made clear that we won’t be talking about Halo’s next major title for quite some time,” reads a 343 Industries blog post.

“And no, that doesn’t mean Gamescom. Or PAX. Trust us, when we’re ready to begin pulling back that proverbial curtain, you’ll know. It won’t be soon.”

There were rumours of a Halo reveal taking place during the Microsoft conference at E3 2017.

343 had said that something would be announced, but it turned out to be an expansion for Halo Wars 2.

Ahead of the Xbox One X release date, Xbox’s head of console marketing Albert Penello spoke about the amount of Xbox consoles gamers can choose from.

He likened it to the choice smartphone owners face – with Apple and Samsung currently selling multiple versions of the iPhone and Galaxy devices.

Mr Penello said: “If you look at phones, there’s all kinds of different types of names used and people manage to figure it out.

“You’re gonna know ‘I want the 4K one,’ [you’re gonna know] by price or bundles or colour; I think people will figure out which console they’re buying.”
