Bye-bye, Futurama
It’s that time again. Our eyes are burning with tears. We can’t stop quoting Robert Frost. All of our sentences begin with “alas.” It’s as if every fuchsia petal has fallen from our most precious Damask rose and all that remains is but a downcast hip. Brace yourselves, friends, for it is time to learn what movies and TV shows will be leaving top streaming services. Parting is such sweet sorrow.
Fans of Futurama should be used to saying farewell by now. Even after two cancellations, though, it never gets any easier. On July 1, Netflix will cut all of the Futurama episodes from the show’s original run on Fox, plus the four movies. See you space fryboy…
Several classic comedies will also be taken off streaming on the first of the month. Blazing Saddles and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes are departing Netflix while Hulu is losing Coming to America and Planes, Trains and Automobiles. Also, if you’re a fan of American Pie spinoffs — and why wouldn’t you be? — Netflix is getting rid of Band Camp, Beta House and The Naked Mile.
Fans of Batman should act fast as well, considering that Tim Burton’s 1989 adaptation is leaving Netflix on July 1 while the newly 25-year-old Batman Returns will leave HBO Now July 31. Scroll further for a complete list of content you may only have a few more days to stream.
