<p><a class="autolink" title="Fortnite" href="http://www.ign.com/games/fortnite">Fortnite</a> Battle Royale players have been getting ready for a meteor to hit the game map <a href="http://www.ign.com/wikis/fortnite/Meteor_Easter_Egg_(Tilted_Towers_Comet)" target="_blank">for months now</a>, but one Reddit theory thinks it isn&#8217;t a meteor at all: it&#8217;s an alien mothership.</p>
<p>As pointed out by <a href="https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018-04-25-fans-now-think-that-fortnites-mysterious-meteor-might-be-alien-in-origin" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Eurogamer</a>, <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/FortNiteBR/comments/8dpkrn/the_whole_comet_destroying_tilted_towers_is_a/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Reddit user Kensyys thinks</a> people have had it wrong this whole time. While the focus has been on Fortnite&#8217;s insanely popular Battle Royale mode, the meteor has also been visible in the PvE Save the World mode, and more potential clues there point toward aliens.</p>
<p class="aligncenter">
<p>A quest in Save the World has a character named Lars saying something from space was sending out signals trying to communicate with Fortnite&#8217;s zombies. More recently, Lars says a friend of his was seemingly abducted, and tasks players with gathering telescopes to observe the object in the sky. That quest then concludes with Lars saying &#8220;we&#8217;re about to have some company.&#8221;</p>
<p>Those Save the World clues, combined with <a href="http://www.ign.com/wikis/fortnite/Meteor_Easter_Egg_(Tilted_Towers_Comet)" target="_blank">a distinctly UFO-shaped light</a> that has appeared near the comet, make a pretty convincing argument that this might be more than <a href="http://www.ign.com/videos/2018/04/02/fortnite-theory-tilted-towers-will-be-destroyed" target="_blank">just the end of Titled Towers</a>.</p>
<p class="aligncenter">
<p>The theory also comes hot on the heels of Fortnite&#8217;s latest patch adding signs with comets and UFOs on them scattered around Tilted Towers, which you can see in the video above.</p>
<p>You can <a href="http://www.ign.com/wikis/fortnite/Meteor_Easter_Egg_(Tilted_Towers_Comet)" target="_blank">read a full rundown about the meteor here</a> along with how it has changed over time, and whatever happens is likely to coincide with the <a href="http://www.ign.com/articles/2018/04/24/fortnite-season-4-might-start-next-week" target="_blank">launch of Season 4 next week</a>.</p>
