You’ve got two weeks before it costs money again.
Battlefield 1’s first expansion, They Shall Not Pass, is free right now for PC and console players.
The DLC is available to download for free on Origin, in the Microsoft Store, and in the PlayStation Store. The offer is limited to 14 days, but the expansion is for keeps – it won’t disappear once the offer’s over.
They Shall Not Pass introduced the French army to the fray, as well as new weapons, maps, a new elite class, and then some. You can watch the trailer for the expansion if you want to get a feel for what it’s about, and check out our detailed rundown of the content right here.
Battlefield 1 has had four expansions in total, with the latest being Apocalypse. That released earlier this year and introduced the new Air Assault mode.
DICE recently announced that the monthly content updates for the title would be coming to an end in June, with DICE content lead, Jonas Elfving also saying that players could download They Shall Not Pass’ Rupture map for free. Elfving didn’t mention that the fist DLC pack would be available in its entirety at the time.
Meanwhile, more historic battles await if the leaked details on the next Battlefield game are anything to by. The title is reportedly set in WW2 and called Battlefield V. You can find out more on this year’s Battlefield instalment right here.
