THQ’s 2018 lineup sees a potential mass exodus to 2019.
THQ Nordic has announced that its post-apocalyptic FPS, Metro Exodus has had its release date pushed back to Q1 next year.
Metro Exodus was revealed at E3 2017 with a 2018 release widow. In a press release touching on upcoming games from Deep Silver, THQ Nordic said it would be publishing Wasteland 2 and The Bard’s Tale 4.
“Along with them, we are all looking forward to Deep Silver’s next key release, Metro Exodus, now expected in Q1 2019,” it added.
Biomutant, initially set for a 2018 release, and Darksiders 3, which was also looking at launch this year, may also be facing a delay. The two titles are “still under evaluation for setting a release date.”
THQ Nordic acquired Deep Silver earlier this year when it bought Koch Media in a €121 million deal. “THQ Nordic is convinced that the development studios of Deep Silver as part of THQ Nordic will successfully deliver at least four ongoing AAA game projects including Metro Exodus,” said THQ Nordic CEO, Lars Wingefors, back in February.
THQ Nordic will be giving E3 a miss this year to tend to the important business of the World Cup which kicks off on June 14 in Russia, so instead it’ll be showcasing its lineup at Gamescom in Cologne, which runs from August 21-25, and PAX West in Seattle, taking place from September 1-4.
