<p>EA has confirmed some extra details about <a class="autolink" title="Battlefield V," href="http://www.ign.com/games/battlefield-2018">Battlefield V,</a> including microtransactions and lootboxes, as well as more information about its reveal trailer.</p>
<p>An EA representative confirmed to <a href="http://www.ign.com/articles/2018/05/23/battlefield-5-release-date-first-details-revealed-no-more-premium-pass" target="_blank">IGN following the reveal of Battlefield V</a> that the action seen in the trailer was &#8220;all in-engine footage and representative of things you can do in the game.&#8221;</p>

<p>EA also confirmed to IGN that the game will not feature lootboxes. and that the items available for purchase in-game are cosmetic only.</p>
<p>&#8220;What you can purchase are vanity items directly and through grind and premium currency,&#8221; a representative for EA told IGN. &#8220;You cannot pay for any advantage or power [in Battlefield V].&#8221;</p>
<p>The new entry in the Battlefield series is set in World War 2 and offers a number of new features, including a four-player co-op mode called Combined Arms and a steady stream of new content after launch called The Tides of War.</p>
<p>At the reveal event, it was also revealed that <a href="http://uk.ign.com/articles/2018/05/23/battlefield-5-release-date-first-details-revealed-no-more-premium-pass" target="_blank">Battlefield V will scrap the premium pass, offering all of its major post-release content for free.</a></p>
<p>Battlefield V launches on October 19 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.</p>
