Today’s announcement of Fallout 76 got us all misty-eyed about all the Fallout games we’ve covered here at IGN. It’s unfortunate that IGN hadn’t caught on to the wisdom of covering PC games when the first Fallout arrived in 1997, but we were on the case by the arrival of Fallout 2 in 1998. And between the four “main” games (and New Vegas), their many DLC packs, and the various spinoffs, we’ve got a catalog of more than 20 reviews to look back on so we can see the impact they had at the moment our critics first experienced these post-nuclear (mostly) roleplaying games.

So suit up, find a companion, and journey into the history of IGN’s Fallout reviews below.
