A new Super Smash Bros game for Nintendo Switch will be the highlight of Nintendo’s E3 showing in Los Angeles next week, but Nintendo fans on the East Coast won’t have to travel cross-country to play it.
Nintendo announced its “E3 Experience,” a five-day event at the New York Nintendo Store coinciding with the year’s biggest games convention. The E3 Experience will feature a number of live streams, but the most exciting thing for fans will likely be the chance to get their hands on Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch and Mario Tennis Aces.
The event kicks off Monday night with a live stream of the Splatoon 2 World Championship Opening Round at 6:30 p.m. EDT. Tuesday then features a jam-packed schedule with live streams of the E3 2018 Nintendo Direct and its ensuing Nintendo Treehouse stream.
Super Smash Bros and Mario Tennis Aces will be playable starting at 5 p.m. ET, preceded by the Splatoon 2 World Championship Finals stream at 4 p.m. and followed by the Super Smash Bros. Invitational 2018 stream. Fans can begin lining up for Tuesday’s events at 9 a.m. ET.
Mario Tennis Aces and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch will again both be playable on June 13, 14, and 15 beginning at 9 a.m. ET. Lines will begin forming outside the New York Nintendo Store at 7 a.m ET each day.
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch is the first game in the popular mascot fighter since 2014’s Super Smash Bros for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. for 3DS. It was revealed in March via the above teaser video showcasing Splatoon’s Inklings as playable characters.
Mario Tennis Aces was announced in January and already had a three-day Switch demo earlier this month. In a May Mario Tennis Aces preview, IGN wrote that “it’s shaping up to be the Mario Tennis game fans have been waiting for.”
