Bethesda has revealed Fallout 76 will include a stealth mode which allows you to disappear from the mini-map, so other players cannot find you.

In a video posted to the official Fallout Twitter account, Jeff Gardiner, project lead for Fallout 76, was asked: “How do sneak perks and detection work in Fallout 76?”

Gardiner responded:

“As soon as you crouch, which engages our stealth mode, the dot [AKA your character marker] will very quickly fade away, so other players won’t be able to find you.”

The ability to disappear from the mini-map allows players to both ambush unsuspecting enemies and avoid unwanted PvP battles or griefing. Bethesda already has some safeguards in place to prevent these issues in its first entirely online entry in the Fallout series, including the inability to be killed by the same player over and over again.

This news comes shortly after the announcement that the Fallout 76 beta will come to Xbox One first. You can only take part in the beta if you preorder Fallout 76 before November 14.
