Another day, another Battle Royale.
The Culling 2, a Battle Royale game with a focus on ballistics and brutal melee combat, will launch tomorrow on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
The Culling 2’s quick turnaround comes as a surprise, as it was only announced last month by developer Xaviant. The official Steam page and official Twitter account for The Culling 2 confirm it will go live on PS4, Xbox One and PC at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT on July 10.
The Culling was released for PC in 2016 and came to the Xbox One in 2017. It’s a Battle Royale game in the vein of the ever-popular Fortnite Battle Royale or PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. According to developer Xaviant, The Culling 2 is “Battle Royale distilled into its purest form” and looks to expand upon its predecessor.
The Culling 2’s arena is reportedly 20 square kilometers large, features 50 player matches, and has carefully tuned ballistics meant to match their real-world counterparts. The official Twitter account has confirmed the game will be sold for $19.99 US.
The Culling’s largest Battle Royale competitor, Fortnite, has been busy making headlines as well. Season 5 teases have cropped up across Europe, and a recent live rocket launch left a mysterious tear in the sky of the map. Epic Games has also teased Season 5 with a mysterious new image.
