<p>Despite reports suggesting the console version of Overkill&#8217;s <a title="The Walking Dead" href="https://www.ign.com/games/overkills-the-walking-dead">The Walking Dead</a> had been canceled, one of the game&#8217;s publishers has gone on record saying it&#8217;s simply been postponed.</p>
<p>Confirmed by publisher 505 Games on <a href="https://twitter.com/505_Games/status/1098355375290675200" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Twitter</a>,&#160;the company states &#8220;We just wanted to clear the position on the Overkill&#8217;s The Walking Dead on console and confirm that the game has not been cancelled, purely postponed whilst development is on-going. We will share further news as soon as possible.&#8221;</p>

<p>The rumor that indicated Overkill&#8217;s The Walking Dead had been canceled began when users who pre-ordered the game on the PlayStation Store allegedly started receiving an automated message informing customers of the cancelation. Images of this message can be found on&#160;<a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/OverkillsTWD/comments/ashh6t/i_guess_thats_that/?utm_source=reddit-android" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Reddit</a>.</p>
<p>It was announced in 2015 that <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/2015/04/29/overkills-the-walking-dead-being-developed-for-ps4-xbox-one-pc" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Overkill&#8217;s The Walking Dead was being developed for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One</a>. During E3 2018, it was <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/2018/06/11/e3-2018-overkills-the-walking-dead-release-date-announced" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">announced that the game would be released in November</a>, though that was ultimately only the PC version of the game. The console port was <a href="https://www.vg247.com/2018/08/22/overkills-the-walking-dead-ps4-xbox-one-delay/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">pushed back to February 2019</a>, though it appears to have been delayed even further.</p>
<p>In <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/2018/11/14/overkills-the-walking-dead-review" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">our review</a> of Overkill&#8217;s The Walking Dead on PC, we called the game &#8220;Mediocre&#8221; saying &#8220;Co-op zombie-splattering will never be devoid of fun, but Overkill&#8217;s The Walking Dead is lacking in both the series&#8217; storytelling and technical polish.&#8221;</p>
