It’s the first week of July, and many folks in the United States are getting ready for their Independence Day holiday week. Because it’s a new month, there are plenty of new shows and movies to watch on Netflix. This week, the streaming service’s most popular series returns for a third season, so spend the 4th of July inside your house, watching people escape the clutches of creatures from another dimension.
This Thursday, Season 3 of Stranger Things arrives, and while few plot details have been shared publicly, GameSpot’s review was extremely positive of the new season, giving it a 9 out of 10. Mike Rougeau said, "It’s safe to say that Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer have pulled it off: After a lackluster sophomore slump, Stranger Things is back at the top of its game."
Since Stranger Things arrives in the latter half of the week, you’re probably looking for something else to fill the void. On Monday, Netflix will be releasing plenty of new movies that you’ll want to watch. Both Caddyshack movies head to the service, along with the ’80s classic monster movie Little Monsters. If you’re looking for a classic drama, Philadelphia and Rain Man arrive the same day. But our pick of the week that isn’t Stranger Things has to go to the classic Patrick Swayze movie, Road House. It’s about a bouncer who is amazing at his job/ripping throats. He heads to a new bar called The Double Deuce and squares off against an evil developer and his goons, who have a monster truck.
