<p>Some thought this day would never come</p>
<p>Following <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-45019803">a year of record profits</a>, Games Workshop is <a href="https://www.polygon.com/2019/3/6/18253801/warhammer-40k-chaos-space-marines-abaddon-sisters-of-battle-new-models">reinvigorating</a> its flagship <a href="https://www.polygon.com/franchise/warhammer/787">Warhammer</a> 40,000 miniatures line. Leading the pack of announcements and new releases this month is our first look at the all new plastic <a href="https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/07/08/battle-sister-bulletin-part-11-battle-sisters-ahoygw-homepage-post-2/?utm_source=GamesWorkshop.com&amp;utm_campaign=2af419e43a-GW_8th_July_Battle_Sister_Squad_ENG&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_term=0_c6e14e39d2-2af419e43a-119988805">Sisters of Battle</a> tactical squad.</p>
<p>The Sisters of Battle, also known as the Adepta Sororitas, are 40K’s version of militant nuns. As the lore goes, they’re known to be heavily armed and armored, able to go <a href="https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/04/29/battle-sister-bulletin-part-6-key-events-in-adepta-sororitas-history-gw-homepage-post-4/">toe-to-toe with humanity’s greatest foes</a> like the Eldar, Orcs, and Tyranids. But they’re also a bit mysterious, closely associated with the Imperial Inquisition and always on the lookout for heresy.</p>

<p>The Sisters of Battle are one of the franchise’s most popular factions, and haven’t seen an update to their models since the late 1990s. Information about the new line has come out in dribs and drabs for the last year, and <a href="https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/06/22/warhammer-day-is-cominggw-homepage-post-1fw-homepage-post-1-2/">a single new model went on sale last month</a> in very limited numbers. On Monday, Games Workshop revealed renders for five more, <a href="https://www.polygon.com/2018/7/20/17592150/warhammer-40000-kill-team-games-workshop-miniature-figures">enough to make a decent Kill Team</a>. No word yet on when they’ll be up for sale.</p>

<p>Games Workshop also recently released the new <a href="https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Apocalypse-EN-2019"><em>Warhammer 40,000: Apocalypse</em></a> ruleset. It allows players to fight with preposterously large forces – so large that they must be moved across the table on trays like traditional Warhammer armies. The system is up for sale now and starts <a href="https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Apocalypse-EN-2019">around $100</a>.</p>
<p>Expect more announcements from Games Workshop to coincide with this year’s Gen Con, the nation’s largest tabletop gaming convention, which kicks off Aug. 1 in Indianapolis.</p>
