Here&#8217;s the &#8220;cover art&#8221; for <strong>Suikoden Tierkreis</strong>, which evidently came out today for the Nintendo DS:</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" data-attachment-id="8" data-permalink="https://grindingdown.wordpress.com/2009/03/17/suikoden-tierkreis-finds-the-eternal-darkness/suikoden-tierkreis/" data-orig-file="https://grindingdown.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/suikoden-tierkreis.jpg" data-orig-size="515,464" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-meta="{&quot;aperture&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;credit&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;camera&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;caption&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;created_timestamp&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;copyright&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;focal_length&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;iso&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;shutter_speed&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;title&quot;:&quot;&quot;}" data-image-title="suikoden-tierkreis" data-image-description="" data-medium-file="https://grindingdown.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/suikoden-tierkreis.jpg?w=300" data-large-file="https://grindingdown.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/suikoden-tierkreis.jpg?w=515" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-8" title="suikoden-tierkreis" src="https://grindingdown.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/suikoden-tierkreis.jpg?w=500&#038;h=450" alt="suikoden-tierkreis" width="500" height="450" srcset="https://grindingdown.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/suikoden-tierkreis.jpg?w=500&amp;h=450 500w, https://grindingdown.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/suikoden-tierkreis.jpg?w=150&amp;h=135 150w, https://grindingdown.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/suikoden-tierkreis.jpg?w=300&amp;h=270 300w, https://grindingdown.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/suikoden-tierkreis.jpg 515w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" /></p>
<p>And I thought <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Chrono-Trigger-Nintendo-DS/dp/B001E27DLM">Chrono Trigger DS</a> barely tried.</p>
<p>Anyways, for those too lazy to flip this over in the game store, this cover art tells them absolutely nothing about <strong>Suikoden Tierkreis</strong> other than it&#8217;s made by Konami and has WiFi features. Considering how <em>rocking</em> the artwork for the first two entries in series were (unarguably the best games in the series, too), this is a shame and a waste of space. The game&#8217;s biggest draw is the ability to collect 108 characters for your army and castle, always has been. Granted, there&#8217;s <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Suikoden_Tierkreis.jpg">the European version of cover art</a> floating around, which is much better at presenting the sort of game <strong>Suiko</strong> fans are expecting.</p>
<p>Yet what do we Americans get?</p>
<p>Blackness, the evergoing dark, a void to fall into and never return from. In short, nothing at all.</p>
