Okay, yesterday I played paparazzi. I couldn’t help myself, I took a couple of photos of people who were taking photos of themselves. These 3 images were taken in NGV and I felt wrong about it. I’ll try to explain why. I have 3 reasons for it. Obviously 3 is a magic number for today.

Reason 1. I keep asking myself, does the dating site, or any other for which they are taking this photo for, have a button that even mentions the photos location? Also, what is this grey column famous for? Why would you go to a public place to pose? And, pose in front of a concrete pillar?

Reason 2. If the gallery is a place where we collect art of the highest quality, wouldn’t it make sense to look at the beauty of art or are they a beauty on their own? Then why are they here?

Reason 3. I feel wrong. Purely. Because I admire them for their openness and shamelessness. How do they do that?

Reason 4. I know I said there were only three reasons but in hindsight there is really only one. They are superficial morons who need to be told so. My problem is I know it’s not my place to tell them but I also know that if I don’t, no one will.

P.S. Don’t call me “old school”, I haven’t mention even the “exit” sign…yet

Не смогла удержаться, и “подсмотрела” за “подсматривающим”.

Вчера была в Национальной Галереи, и “искусство новой эпохи” застало меня врасплох. В общем, я, почти, чувствую себя виноватой. Как говорит Михаил Леонтьев, однако, у меня есть три причины чувствовать правоту своего недоразумения.

Причина первая – Мучает меня вопрос, есть ли на сайте знакомств -или для чего они там берут эти фото- кнопка с указанием месторасположения, где взята была это фотография? Или зачем ехать в людное место, чтобы запечатлеться напротив бетонной колонны?

Причина недоумения вторая – Если Национальная Галерея – это собрание наилучших достижений и произведений искусства, то может есть смысл пойти взглянуть на эту красоту или они, эти девушки, собственно, и есть красота? Тогда, что они тут делают?

Ну, и третье… Похоже я недоумеваю лишь потому, что завидую их открытости и беззаботной нескромности. Как они это делают?

П.с. и не стоит на меня обзываться за дремучее пуританство, я даже про знак “EXIT” ничего не сказала….пока.
