Today I finished my work after 5 p.m. and I run to the popup exhibition.

Exhibition is made by the street artist Rone, who painted entire wall in the building which gonna be bulldozed in a week. It is hard to translate your own feeling into paper/ screen when you see the beauty of this building and the beauty of this art work. Especially when you know, that you wont see it any more and that the only thing what you have is just today’s moment and hopefully a photo of it.

Street art doesn’t leave long, we all know that, but we hope it is gonna last as long as possible: sometimes days, sometimes years. But this artist knew that this building gonna be demolished in a week including this painting, his hard work, money and time he spent on it -all will be turned into crumbled pile of rubble. What was he thinking about? He must feel inspired that this portrait of a girl won’t disappear under the other graffiti or simply washed away, but instead it will be saved in thousands of broken pieces.

This art has just a small living moment. That’s all it’s got, that’s how long it lasts. But still there is a meaning in creating it, because beauty is transiently and fleetly as our life. Doesn’t matter if it didn’t last long, matters that it did exist.

And that’s the meaning of life….

Сегодня после работы я забежала посмотреть на выставку в Фицрое.

Выставка была организована известным уличным граффитчиком и стрит артистом Роном по случаю демонтажа и сноса старого помещения театра.  Он рисовал эту стену три дня для того, чтобы ее снесли через неделю после этого. Мимолетность и, казалось бы, бессмысленность акции носит в себе самый глубокий смысл. Искусство ради искусства; утверждающее, что есть смысл в создание красоты, даже если она мимолётна. Потому что красота, впрочем как и жизнь, всегда мимолетна.
