<p>For Saturday Sewing today, we have a very cute and easy project for you to make using AcuSketch App (which is a FREE Janome app) and your Janome embroidery machine. </p>
<p style="text-align:center;"><em><strong>Please note that you can use AcuSketch App with most of our Janome embroidery machines even if you do not have a WIFI capable embroidery machine&#8230;..so read on as you may well be bale to do this! </strong></em></p>
<p class="has-text-align-center has-medium-font-size" style="line-height:1.8;">Simple sketching on the iPad and then embroider this hand warmer in the form of a mitt. We took screenshots for each of the steps; well, you can see the functions used.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><a href="https://viejanome.files.wordpress.com/2020/12/1-1.png"><img class="wp-image-11492" src="https://viejanome.files.wordpress.com/2020/12/1-1.png?w=1024" alt="" /></a>
<figcaption><strong>To draw the straight lines, a ruler was placed on the screen of the iPad and drew the rest freehand.</strong></figcaption>
</figure>

<figure class="wp-block-image is-resized"><a href="https://viejanome.files.wordpress.com/2020/12/2-2.png"><img loading="lazy" data-attachment-id="11497" data-permalink="https://janomelife.wordpress.com/2016/08/19/more-great-pics-idea-for-ruler-quilting/img_0662/" data-orig-file="https://janomelife.files.wordpress.com/2016/06/img_0662.jpg" data-orig-size="2448,2448" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-meta="{&quot;aperture&quot;:&quot;2.4&quot;,&quot;credit&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;camera&quot;:&quot;iPhone 5c&quot;,&quot;caption&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;created_timestamp&quot;:&quot;1402651276&quot;,&quot;copyright&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;focal_length&quot;:&quot;4.12&quot;,&quot;iso&quot;:&quot;50&quot;,&quot;shutter_speed&quot;:&quot;0.033333333333333&quot;,&quot;title&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;orientation&quot;:&quot;1&quot;}" data-image-title="IMG_0662" data-image-description="" data-medium-file="https://janomelife.files.wordpress.com/2016/06/img_0662.jpg?w=300" data-large-file="https://janomelife.files.wordpress.com/2016/06/img_0662.jpg?w=1024" class="wp-image-11497" src="https://viejanome.files.wordpress.com/2020/12/2-2.png?w=1024" alt="" width="670" height="494" /></a>

<figcaption><strong>The settings: triple point / length of point: 3mm / break point at the beginning and end of the drawing</strong>.</figcaption>
</figure>
</div>

<p class="has-text-align-center has-medium-font-size" style="line-height:1.8;">The design was embroidered with the <strong><a href="http://janome.ca/en-ca/ca-machines/embroidery/horizon-memory-craft-15000/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">MC15000</a></strong>, so the pattern can be transferred via WiFi to the machine. The <strong><a href="http://janome.ca/en-ca/ca-machines/embroidery/skyline-s9/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Skyline S9</a> </strong>has the same WiFi connectivity. If the machine you own doesn&#8217;t have WiFi compatibility, <em>don&#8217;t worry,</em> the app allows you to send the pattern to <strong><a href="https://www.janome.com/products/software/acu-apps/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">AcuEdit</a></strong>. Then you can email it from AcuEdit on your iPad to yourself and save it to a USB stick at your computer. If you have one of those double ended USB sticks that plug into the lightening/charging port on the iPad and have the USB connection on the other end, you can also save that way.  It is possible to use AcuSketch App with all our current  Janome embroidery machines which have a USB port or WIFI connectivity. </p>

<p class="has-text-align-center has-medium-font-size" style="line-height:1.8;">Dont stop at a little mitt&#8230;..try out other little sketches: see below for some ideas &#8211; simple shapes to make some hand warmers for this cold season of the year.  All that remained was to embroider them. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter"><a href="https://viejanome.files.wordpress.com/2020/12/cerceau.png"><img data-attachment-id="11504" data-permalink="https://janomelife.wordpress.com/2016/08/19/more-great-pics-idea-for-ruler-quilting/img_0652/" data-orig-file="https://janomelife.files.wordpress.com/2016/06/img_0652-e1465425480438.jpg" data-orig-size="1991,3027" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-meta="{&quot;aperture&quot;:&quot;2.4&quot;,&quot;credit&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;camera&quot;:&quot;iPhone 5c&quot;,&quot;caption&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;created_timestamp&quot;:&quot;1402651180&quot;,&quot;copyright&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;focal_length&quot;:&quot;4.12&quot;,&quot;iso&quot;:&quot;50&quot;,&quot;shutter_speed&quot;:&quot;0.05&quot;,&quot;title&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;orientation&quot;:&quot;1&quot;}" data-image-title="IMG_0652" data-image-description="" data-medium-file="https://janomelife.files.wordpress.com/2016/06/img_0652-e1465425480438.jpg?w=197" data-large-file="https://janomelife.files.wordpress.com/2016/06/img_0652-e1465425480438.jpg?w=674" class="wp-image-11504" src="https://viejanome.files.wordpress.com/2020/12/cerceau.png?w=705" alt="" /></a></figure>
</div>

<p class="has-medium-font-size" style="line-height:1.8;">How to embroider:</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size" style="line-height:1.8;">1. Hoop up with tearaway stabilizer. </p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size" style="line-height:1.8;">2. Slide two layers of thin fleece over the hoop. Do not hoop the fleece &#8211; just float it on top of the stabilizer.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size" style="line-height:1.8;">3. Use the machine&#8217;s &#8216;basting&#8217; function to keep the fabric  in place.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size" style="line-height:1.8;">4. Thread the machine with the same color of thread.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size" style="line-height:1.8;">5. Embroider. It only takes 4 minutes for these 4 patterns at 400 spm.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size" style="line-height:1.8;">6. Embroider a second hooping of designs to complete the pairs &#8211; one for each hand. </p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size" style="line-height:1.8;">7. Cut around each shape.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size" style="line-height:1.8;">8. Fill (uncooked) rice to one-third of each of the shapes. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter"><a href="https://viejanome.files.wordpress.com/2020/12/couture-de-fermeture.png"><img class="wp-image-11506" src="https://viejanome.files.wordpress.com/2020/12/couture-de-fermeture.png?w=699" alt="" /></a>
<figcaption><strong>Sew the opening closed.</strong></figcaption>
</figure>
</div>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter"><a href="https://viejanome.files.wordpress.com/2020/12/couture-tres-etroite.png"><img data-attachment-id="11508" data-permalink="https://janomelife.wordpress.com/2016/08/19/more-great-pics-idea-for-ruler-quilting/amy-1/" data-orig-file="https://janomelife.files.wordpress.com/2016/06/amy-1.jpg" data-orig-size="800,333" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-meta="{&quot;aperture&quot;:&quot;1.8&quot;,&quot;credit&quot;:&quot;Picasa&quot;,&quot;camera&quot;:&quot;Canon PowerShot G16&quot;,&quot;caption&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;created_timestamp&quot;:&quot;1440713027&quot;,&quot;copyright&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;focal_length&quot;:&quot;6.1&quot;,&quot;iso&quot;:&quot;80&quot;,&quot;shutter_speed&quot;:&quot;0.001&quot;,&quot;title&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;orientation&quot;:&quot;0&quot;}" data-image-title="amy 1" data-image-description="" data-medium-file="https://janomelife.files.wordpress.com/2016/06/amy-1.jpg?w=300" data-large-file="https://janomelife.files.wordpress.com/2016/06/amy-1.jpg?w=800" class="wp-image-11508" src="https://viejanome.files.wordpress.com/2020/12/couture-tres-etroite.png?w=645" alt="" /></a></figure>
</div>

<p class="has-text-align-center has-medium-font-size" style="line-height:1.8;">Notice in the photo above, that I kept the regular needle plate and attached the HP foot. By choosing the center position, the needle sits in the hole of the foot, and I get a perfectly straight stitch &#8230; Wonderful! Also, notice the top thread that is held to the left by the side thread cutter to avoid a thread bird nesting at the start of the seam.</p>
