● The lead story is dadako announcing a new game to show off at A Fifth of BitSummit on 20/21 May. It’ll be a two player game and will feature some characters from Pirate Pop Plus. There’s no platform as of yet (there was a glitch in the BitSummit website that mistakenly listed Nintendo Switch – this doesn’t mean that it will not be for Switch!). More info will be released in the run-up to BitSummit.
● Piczle Lines DX was announced for Nintendo Switch over the weekend by Rainy Frog as a deluxe port of the smartphone puzzle game featuring over 300 levels with more free-of-charge at a later date. It’s expected this Summer.
● Plantera: Garden Life DX Edition was also announced for Nintendo Switch by Rainy Frog although it doesn’t look like it offers too much from the Nintendo 3DS/Wii U original. It’s scheduled for June priced at just ¥500.
● Dead House Saisei is the final Rainy Frog announcement being a localisation of the Rainy Night Creations’ survival horror game Vaccine. It’s due later this month and will be priced at ¥1,000.
● Aqua Style did indeed show off Fushigi no Gensokyo TOD: RELOADED (Touhou Genso Wanderer) for Nintendo Switch at the Hakurei Jinja Reitaisai event yesterday.
● Battle Sports Mekuru will be shown off by Over Fence at A 5th of BitSummit with a tournament with a Nintendo Switch for the winner too!
● The 2.5D shoot ‘em up Sine Mora EX has been confirmed for Japanese Switch release.
● Nintendo Switch sold 234,817 units in Japan in April with Nintendo games accounting for the top five software sold (Mario Kart 8 Deluxe > Monster Hunter XX > Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia > Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission X > The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild).
● Fire Emblem Heroes was updated to Version 1.3.0 with today’s new content including both a Summoning Focus: Female Mages and a Summoning Focus: Male Mages and an EXP x1.5 Event. A Battle of the Mages Voting Gauntlet begins this Friday.
● All Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Statues have been unlocked in Super Mario Run and Indonesia has the highest Toad Rally win percentage with 68.68%!
● Splatoon 2 added its latest new item today with the cool looking HI Gray Sea Slugs shoes from the Tentatek/Arome label.
