● Last week finally saw the release of Kirby Star Allies which is the first big Nintendo Switch game of 2018 ending the console’s first major release drought and starts off a spell of at least five consecutive months with first party games releasing!
● Nintendo updated the Nintendo Switch hardware to Version 5.0.0 with friend suggestions from Twitter and Facebook, 24 new ARMS and Kirby icons, and more.
● The ninth Japanese Splatfest was announced for next weekend with a Nike theme of ‘What do you want? Latest models vs. Popular models.’
● Tozai Games announced they will be bringing the action puzzle game Lode Runner Legacy to the Switch eShop this Spring priced at ¥1,200.
● Aria Software announced the visual novel Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai -Library Party- (A Good Librarian Like a Good Shepherd) for 26 July 2018 priced at ¥7,344.
● Koei Tecmo Games and Omega-Force announced Musou OROCHI 3 (Warriors Orochi 4) for a 2018 release on an undisclosed platform(s).
● Oizumi Amuzio (formerly Intergrow) announced they are localising both Tennis World Tour and V-Rally 4 for both Switch and PS4 in Japan.
● Skipmore announced they will be developing three Nintendo Switch titles in 2018 with Picontier the only one currently known.
● Chorus Worldwide announced The Adventures of Bertram Fiddle game Bertram Fiddle no Bouken Episode 1: Reikoku Naru Jiken for 29 March priced at ¥500.
● Three retro games announced for next week with Sol Divide for Nintendo Switch from Zerodiv and both ACA NEOGEO World Heroes 2 JET and Arcade Archives Moon Patrol from Hamster. Check out the Release Schedule for the full line-up!
● Mediascape published the PlayStation One/Nintendo 64 era horror game Back in 1995 64 on the eShop (New 3DS models only) priced at ¥980.
● Nippon Columbia published a demo for Biyoushi Debut Monogatari: Top Sutairisuto o Mezasou! with the game also available to pre-load.
● Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp was updated to Version 1.3.0 adding size records for bugs and fish and easier gardening. The Fishing Tourney also began, plus players received a free shamrock hat,
● Fire Emblem Heroes saw a Summoning Focus: Countering Skills featuring Hector, Ike and Takumi, a Tempest Trials: Invisible Ties event, as well as Bound Hero Battle: Chrom And Lissa and Summoning Focus: Bound Hero Battle.
● Miitomo saw new “Ride faster than the wind! Cycling Fashion [A]” and “Jumping out of your TV! Miitomo Heroes [B]” stages, plus returning “With extra va-va-vroom! Vehicular Vogue” stages.
● Pokémon GO will soon see Facebook account linking and login updates and has seen the Legendary Pokémon Lugia return to Raid Battles until 2 April.
● Nintendo of America announced a Nindies Showcase Spring 2018 video presentation for 20 March focusing on upcoming Switch titles.
● Sega announced a Sonic Mania Plus retail package for North America this Summer with playable Mighty, Ray and more. A new Sonic Racing game was also teased.
● Yoshiaki Koizumi, Ko Shiota and Shinya Takahashi collected the AMD Excellence Award on behalf of Nintendo due to the strength and impact of the Nintendo Switch console.
● Kosuke Yabuki was interview by Weekly Famitsu and said that he’d like to make an ARMS 2 someday and that ARMS 1 will continue to see updates.
● Hamster announced they have acquired the rights to the full Video System catalogue for future Arcade Archives and ACA NEOGEO series titles.
● Nintendo and 7-Eleven have an ongoing Animal Crossing promotion including a Nintendo Prepaid Card, Animal Crossing: New Leaf returning items and a Lottery.
● Capcom announced the Gyakuten Saiban (Ace Attorney) videogame series has sold 6.7 million and that a second season of the anime has been announced for the Fall.
● Konami announced the Switch game Super Bomberman R will release on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 14 June in Japan.
