● Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp saw a huge Version 2.0.0 update today with the big two additions being the new cabins feature, which is on a new area of the map, and photo sharing, which adds some of the social aspects of Miitomo. Check out the full list of improvements at this post.
● Careux released the arrangement type puzzle game Madoris R on the Japanese Switch eShop priced at the introductory price of ¥400 (regular price is ¥500). This is at least the third Madoris title after two smartphone versions developed by Qooga Create.
● SAT-BOX announced a sequel to the relatively successful (in Japan) Voxel Shot with Voxel Sword scheduled for release on the Japanese Switch eShop in late December priced at ¥800.
● GEO will stock a limited release of the Atelier: The Alchemist of Arland 1-2-3 DX trilogy in stores and online from 20 December priced at ¥11,664 and featuring an exclusive sleeve illustration (small images here and here).
● Square-Enix announced that Dragon Quest X Online Version 4.4 Utsuro Naru Hana no Yurikago will release for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo 3DS and Wii U on 05 December. The upgrade campaign from the Wii version to the Switch version ends on 30 November 2018 at 23:59 JST. Update trailer posted here.
● This week’s new Hamster eShop games are the soccer game ACA NEOGEO NEOGEO CUP ‘98 ～THE ROAD TO THE VICTORY～ and the maze racing game ARCADE ARCHIVES Route 16 with both priced at ¥823.
● Eastasiasoft announced the 2D side scrolling shoot’em up The Bug Butcher will release on the Japanese Switch eShop next week (06 December) priced at ¥900 with a preload price of ¥810. Trailer posted here.
● Starsign announced the beach volleyball game Super Volley Blast for the Japanese Switch eShop next week (06 December) priced at ¥800. Trailer posted here.
● Rainy Frog will publish the first person horror game Hollow on the Japanese Switch eShop next week too (06 December) priced at ¥2,000.
● Arc System Works will be the publishers of Nippon Marathon on the Japanese Switch eShop with the game getting a 17 December release priced at ¥1,500.
● Dorasu did publish the latest Block Crash game Akihabara Crash! 123 Stage +1 on the Japanese Switch eShop today priced at ¥888.
● Today’s new demos on the Japanese Switch eShop include WORK×WORK from FuRyu, Shanghai Refresh from Sunsoft, Nora to Oujo to Noraneko Heart HD from PIACCI and Freedom Planet from Marvelous.
● Arc System Works‘ upcoming Jake Hunter prequel Daedalus：The Awakening of Golden Jazz is now available to preload on the Japanese Switch eShop priced at ¥6,990, requiring 2.0 GB.
● And Koei Tecmo Games’ updated version of Dynasty Warriors 7, Shin Sangoku Musou７ with Moushouden DX is also available to preload on the Japanese Switch eShop priced at ¥6,609 (regular price of ¥7,344),and requiring 14.4 GB.
● Puyo Puyo eSports digital estimates from Weekly Famitsu for Japan are 35,410 for Nintendo Switch and 25,914 for PlayStation 4 in just four days (the game was heavily discounted to just ¥500 yen). Super Mario Party is 12,168 in 24 days.
● GIRLS und PANZER Dream Tank Match DX will feature over 40 characters with 3D models as well as a new mode, new maps, BC Freedom High School and local battles.
● A new Challenge Mode (Meteor/Bridge Melee) is now available in Musou OROCHI 3 (Warriors Orochi 4) priced at ¥540. Introduction video posted here.
● And Konami have permanently reduced the price of Super Bomberman R in Japan from ¥5,378 to ¥2,980 to keep inline with the ‘Smile Price Collection’ version which launches at retail on 29 November.
● Probably the last large third party 3DS titles Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth is now available on the Japanese 3DS eShop (with the packaged version to follow in a few hours). Ver 1.1 is also now available.
● The latest Japanese My Nintendo rewards include 30% software discounts for Meitantei Pikachu (Detective Pikachu), Luigi Mansion 2, Donkey Kong Returns 3D and Katachi Shinhakken! Rittai Picross 2 (Picross 3D: Round 2) on Nintendo 3DS. Check out the full list of rewards here.
● Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp also added Fauna’s Toy Day Cookie (full details here) and the Wall & Floor Collection (full details here) today. Finally, tomorrow will see Jingle host a Christmas-themed gardening event (teaser image posted here).
● Fire Emblem Heroes saw Legendary Hero – Hríd: Icy Blade arrive for a new Legendary Hero summoning event along with previously released 5★ Heroes, and is waiting in Special Maps for a Legendary Hero Battle. Forging Bonds: The Sworn Oath also began today.
● Pokémon GO updated to Version 1.97.1 where you can now connect to your Facebook account to add Facebook friends, reverse-sort your Friend List, Pokémon caught prior to the current calendar will now have a unique indicator, plus more.
● Nintendo Switch set two new records in the United States from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday: becoming both the best-selling Nintendo console in U.S. history for the five-day period, and having its best-selling week ever in the U S. over the same period. The console is now at 8.2 million in just the U.S. with Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!／Eevee! at 1.5 million and Super Mario Party at 1 million.
● Koei Tecmo Games announced that Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists will release on 26 March 2019 in North America and 29 March in Europe .
● Warner announced The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame for Nintendo Switch release on 26 March 2019. A Japanese announcement is also expected.
● Pocket Monsters: Let’s Go! Pikachu／Eevee outsold Battlefield 5 in Japan, selling a further 162,467 units (totalling 823,707) with Nintendo Switch the best-selling hardware for the 37th consecutive week with 108,375. Full Nintendo charts posted here.
● More My Nintendo rewards for Japan include a free Nintendo Switch Online 7 day trial and free physical rewards including 8bit Mario Pochi Bag, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild B2 Poster 3 Set and Super Mario Odyssey B2 Poster 3 Set. Full details and pictures at this post.
● Eurogamer received this official word from Nintendo: “At this time we have no plans to release The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword on Nintendo Switch.”
● Bloomberg report that analysts estimate Nintendo will miss its hardware target of 37.8 million Nintendo Switch units sold by the end of March 2019.
● A Haikara Walker by Splatoon 2 book will release in Japan on 28 December priced at ¥2,376 and coming with a free B2 sized poster while stocks last (source).
● This week’s Weekly Famitsu review scores include LITTLE FRIENDS -DOGS & CATS- with 29/40, Castle of Heart with 29/40, Marenian Tavern Story with 28/40, PLANET ALPHA with 29/40, Tasukete Tako-San with 30/40 and WILL: Subarashiki Sekai with 34/40.
