● Eurogamer sources back up the report from The Wall Street Journal that two new Nintendo Switch models will launch this year. The cheaper version could be handheld only according to the sources and be “kid proof” similar to the 2DS. The other model is said to be an upgrade in ways similar to how the New 3DS is to the 3DS and will likely be docked.
● The second live presentation for Dragon Quest XI: Sugisarishi Toki o Motomete S (Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition) saw Square-Enix announce a “Voice Drama” DLC exclusive to the Switch version with full details in the third presentation this June. ● Dengeki PlayStation issued an apology today as it erroneously lists Galleria no Chika Meikyuu to Majo no Ryodan (Labyrinth of Galleria: Coven of Dusk) as coming to Nintendo Switch. The game is only intended for release on PlayStation 4 and Vita. The official game reveal will be made in a few hours from Nippon Ichi Software.
● This week’s Spirit Board event ‘Kings & Queens of the Sky’ will begin in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate this Friday including Legend-class spirits Wind Fish, Tabuu, Omega Ridley, and Articuno, Zapdos & Moltres, and much more detailed at this post.
● The Extra Story DLC for Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists ~Ateliers of the New World~ has been postponed from 28 March until 31 May in order to further improve the quality.
● Idea Factory released a patch for DIABOLIK LOVERS CHAOS LINEAGE at launch (it’s now available on the eShop and at retail in a few hours time) fixing a few in-game bugs.
● Square-Enix updated Dragon Quest Builders 2: Hakaishin Shidoo to Karappo no Shima to Version 1.5.0 with the ‘Aquarium Pack’ DLC also now available.
● Fortnite was updated to v8.20 adding the Floor is Lava Limited Time Mode, the Poison Dart Trap, and Bananas!
● Demos for Umihara Kawase Fresh! and Super Dragon Ball Heroes World Mission are now available on the Japanese Switch eShop along with Phantom Cat Super Nya Edition (Super Phantom Cat 2), and Voxel Shot for Nintendo Switch. Umihara Kawase Fresh! supports English, although data cannot be transferred over to the full version, and online leaderboards are not in the trial version.
● Kemco announced the RPG Sephirothic Stories for release on the Japanese Switch eShop next week with preloads now live at ¥1,166 (regular price is ¥1,296). Expect it to show up on the Western eShops shortly as it supports English. Promo video for the Switch version posted here.
● In perhaps the first for a text-heavy game: Abstraction Games are releasing the point-and-click adventure game Shadowgate on the Japanese Switch eShop on 11 April with the game including no Japanese text support! It’s currently available to preload for ¥1,760 (the regular price will be ¥2,200.
● After patching the game last week: Super Real Mahjong PⅤ finally returned to the Japanese Switch eShop today. Mighty Craft had the game pulled by Nintendo a couple of weeks ago as the white lighting censorship was not sufficient.
● Hamster’s only game this week is the Nichibutsu shoot ‘em up Arcade Archives Armed F with the Irem shoot ‘em up Arcade Archives IMAGE FIGHT listed as “coming soon” in an advert in Weekly Famitsu magazine.
● Wired Productions released the racing game GRIP on the Japanese Switch eShop as the new name of GRIP: Combat Racing and priced at ¥3,980 (it’s currently on sale at ¥3,184). Japanese launch trailer posted here.

● CIRCLE Ent. will also be bringing their Kunio-kun style beat ‘em up The friends of Ringo Ishikawa to the Japanese Switch eShop next week (04 April) priced at ¥1,500. Trailer posted here.
● DANGEN Entertainment announced the multiplayer slime fighting game Super Slime Arena for the Switch eShop. Check out further details and a trailer here.
● The Japanese release date for Katana ZERO has been set for 18 April where it will be published by Devolver Digital and priced at ¥1,580. Preloads are also live for the title.
● This week’s new Japanese Switch preloads include Satsujin Tantei Jack the Ripper (Murder Detective Jack the Ripper) from Nippon Ichi Software, which is priced at ¥7,538. Check out the full list of retail games that are newly available to preload at this post.
● SAT-BOX have updated Bokura no Keshigomu Otoshi (Drop Eraser) adding support for single Joy-Con play and adding new coloured rubbers!
● Dodge Roll Games announced Enter the Gungeon ‘A Farewell to Arms’ free DLC for 05 April on all platforms with new Gungeoneers, new guns and items, new secret floor and boss, Rainbow Mode, and more.
● And Ghost Town Games announced Overcooked! 2 will get paid ‘Campfire Cook’ DLC on 18 April with 12 new kitchens, two new recipes, and four new chefs. A Season Pass was also announced.
● Room6 say there will finally be more information available for Artifact Adventure Gaiden DX from April. PLAYISM are listed as the publisher in Japan.

● Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp saw an in-app update requiring 51 MB which makes room for Friday’s Garden Event (see the teaser image here).
● Cygames confirmed an issue in High Brunhilda’s Trial in Dragalia Lost, where High Brunhilda’s Volcanic Blitz skill deals more hits than expected. Today’s events and promotions include the Six-Month Anniversary Event and Gala Dragalia detailed at this post.
● Niantic announced the first-ever Bug Out event for Pokémon GO from 02 – 09 April where Bug-type Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild, Incense will last twice as long, and more Pokémon will appear when using Incense.
● In the final week of Media Create numbers distributed freely: Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice debuted at number one selling 157,548 units, Super Robot Wars R opened with 44,051, Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon EVERY BUDDY! opened with 28,509, Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland opened with 12,473, and Nintendo Switch was the best-selling console with 56,099. ● The creator of the Senran Kagura series, Kenichiro Takaki, has left Marvelous and joined Cygames, as revealed in the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu. Takai will remain producer of Senran Kagura.
● A Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Time Trails event will take place at the Nintendo Check-In at Kansai International Airport this weekend to commemorate the release of Yoshi’s Crafted World. The playable course will be Yoshi Circuit, originally from Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
● The only Nintendo Switch game reviewed in Weekly Famitsu Issue no. is Rolling Gunner with 31/40 Other scores saw One Piece World Seeker with 30/40, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice with 37/40, and Variable Barricade with 33/40.
● Famitsu Digital Estimates for 28 January – 24 February also have FINAL FANTASY IX with 20,462, Futari de！Nyanko Daisensou with 18,994, Minecraft with 14,262, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with 12,997.
● Nintendo Co., Ltd. shares went down by -1.72% today after yesterday’s spike to close trading at ¥31,350.00.
● Bethesda Softworks announced Wolfenstein: Youngblood for 26 release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Check out the official story trailer here.
● Yacht Club Games revealed their secret publishing project: the ninja action game Cyber Shadow. Check out the announcement trailer here.
● Electronic Arts announced the closure of its Japanese offices with approximately 350 of its employees also laid off from the marketing, publishing, and operations divisions worldwide. EA say they will continue to support the Japanese market.
