<![CDATA[MOOC Spring 2014 Jazz Appreciation Class Open For Registration on EdX.org]]>Students around the globe now have the opportunity to register a dynamic new Jazz Appreciation course, called a MOOC (massive open online course), offered by Professor Jeff Hellmer and The University of Texas at Austin, which starts on January 21, 2014. Over 1000 students have already registered for the course, however, there’s room for plenty more!

EdX is an online nonprofit learning initiative founded by Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in May 2012. In October 2012, the University of Texas System became the fourth partner in the edX consortium of leading colleges, universities and university systems. Other members include Harvard, MIT, the University of California at Berkeley, Wellesley College and Georgetown University.
