Now in game Antonov serves as the mid boss. For the game story he is the one sponsoring KOF XIV after it not been one for some time between kof xiii and xiv. As to how long we are never given an answer. But what we see is that Antonov is basically SNK version Hercule where he is a martial artist but in now way like the rest of cast seeing there abilities. as trick of special effects.

Now no matter the ending the champ here is left injured and not to sure what he think given what happened with Verse. But given how SNK does there games we can take a guess as to how things will go. At least the way i see it which you can tell me if you think differently.

1 possibility is that he is once again the mid boss of the game with him saying he is the one to beat as there was no clear winner thanks to Verse interference. All be it he was beaten in the story but in A New Beginning that fight never happened and since it is being considered cannon we think that there is a good chance Antonov is ready for another round.

The 2nd option is that he makes his own team and have it so that you can see who he would recruit and also a reason as to why he is playable. Story wise this can be him proving himself that he is strong as well as his fans by going through the same challenges as the other competitors with the top teams facing off.

The 3rd option i think is a good one where as Antonov is still sponsoring the event but since he is to injured to fight we see someone else step forward in his place. That person I think can be Adel as fans would love to see him back and that would be a good way or someone else with who depending up difficulty or performance.
