Silent Hills PS5 Compatibility Removed
<type>link</type>

P.T. Silent Hill will not work on the PlayStation 5. The demo was working on the PlayStation 4 for an unfinished Silent Hill and many thought that the game was would transfer later with data but that doesn’t even seem to be possible at the moment. When asked why now Sony responded it is a developer decision.

“There’s an update to the P.T. Silent Hills PlayStation 5 saga. Initially, there was a report from a Konami representative suggesting the demo wouldn’t be among the backwards compatible programs for the PS5. Some people suggested that this situation could change and perhaps a data transfer would make it possible. Now, Polygon’s Michael McWhertor confirmed, via early access to a system, that P.T. PS5 compatibility isn’t available.

McWhertor went through an experience that involved it being playable, it not working, and a Sony representative saying “a publisher decision” led to it being a PS4 only game. McWhertor offered an exact date and noted that the Silent Hills demo was playable on October 24, 2020. He then said it was listed as “playable on PS4” as of November 2020. While Polygon co-founder Russ Frushtick was noted as having the trial on a PS5 SSD, McWhertor said he couldn’t even transfer the application anymore after a factory reset.”
