All about Chocolate, The Chocolate Museum
Located in Seogwipo Daejeong-eup (Southwest region of Jeju), the Chocolate Museum is surrounded by a European stone wall stacked with Jeju’s stones, which add a certain charm to the establishment. As the second largest of its kind in the world, and the very first in Asia, the Chocolate Museum is an ideal place to learn about chocolate.

Admission is from 10 am to 6 pm, and costs ₩5,000 per person. Upon entering, visitors are each handed a cup of coffee to savor while enjoying a relaxing stroll around the museum.

Benches are stationed everywhere to accommodate families or couples. Here is the coffee brewed in in the café run by the museum.
The central tower of the museum is especially interesting. The overall building is very charming, but initially when the director first built it, the museum was rather derelict.
When you enter the museum, the directions are very thorough and carefully written. It’s in English, Chinese, and Japanese to help foreigners navigate through the museum.
They also have a movie poster of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It’s apparent that they’ve managed to collect a variety of objects pertaining to chocolate. Things like the manufacturing process, history, variety are well displayed.

This is the director of the museum. She is married to the founder of the baby products company Yuayongpum. She formerly worked at a bank, but after travelling and researching chocolate, she established the Chocolate Museum and the café.

What makes this museum unique is its program that allows visitors to make and enjoy their own chocolate. This program is especially popular with the children and can be signed up for on their website.The chocolate shop also lets visitors sample different chocolates and also offers a discount for admission.
