Nintendo DS
Release Date: August 12th, 2008

I find that I’m a lot more likely to purchase a game when a few things happen:
1) The game is used (lower price)
2) The game is complete with box and manual
3) The game looks interesting enough
4) The game is cheap
This one did all of these things and then some! It was only $5 and is actually the sequel to a rather interesting DreamCast side scroller. I got some play time in this weekend, and it plays similarly, but focuses a lot on puzzle-solving, if you can believe it. Not a bad title by any means, but I was looking for more action than this one gave me. But still… five bucks!

Playstation 2
Release Date: November 11th, 2008Here’s something else I find about my video game buying: I tend to pick up the obscure Japanese more often than not when the price is right. Eternal Poison is one of those games. The game was brought stateside by Atlus, who, God bless them, brings over a multitude of Japanese-heavy titles like the Shin Megami Tensei series and a lot of strategy/action RPG titles (Disgaea, Odin Sphere, Radiant Historia, etc.). This one looks like it fits the mold of most other anime-esque games from the island nation: Demon’s invade a peaceful land, kidnap the princess, and it’s up to several heroes to rescue her. Count me in!

Playstation 3
Release Date: August 16th, 2011The sole new entry this week is No More Heroes for the PS3. Originally a Wii-exclusive, the remake for the PS3 features the same story and characters are the Wii original, but with better, HD graphics. Having never played the original Wii game, I can’t really see any difference in graphics, so if you know anything about the two, enlighten me please :). I grabbed this one for my next review at Machinima.com, which I’m excited about. Already a few hours in I must say it’s one of the most violent games I have ever played. Also, why is it when I kill people they yell out, “my spleen!”? I mean, I guess I like my spleen too, but maybe not so much I’ll scream for it when I die. Hmmm…. oh well. Expect the full review in a week.

Playstation 1
Release Date: January 9th, 1998Oh Reboot! Did anyone else remember growing up watching this TV show? If you didn’t watch it, you’re definitely missing out. Basically a show about what the insides of a computer would look like if they were animated and alive like a thriving city, Reboot was a TV show that was made for gamers. I really liked watching it, and when I saw the game (Which I didn’t even know existed) I grabbed it instantly. The game follows series hero Bob as he works to take down enemies Megabyte and Hexadecimal. Reviews online aren’t the greatest for the title, but I’ll give it a go. Bob would want it that way.
