I do not post the raw scans here, but you may email if you want them to compare translations! I do at least one page per day.

All scanning, editing, translating, and uploading is done on my free time and is rather time consuming. It is certainly a lot of work… so please consider donating if you like the work I do. Any amount (no matter how small) is much appreciated and helps me keep going on a daily basis. I hope you enjoy the end results of my work! (If the donate link doesn’t work, try the button on the side -> )

Notes:

As you may have guessed, the left panel was slightly different in Japanese. It revolves around the joke of the word for “flower” and “nose” being said the same way in Japanese. Elise said “flower” (花 hana), then, realizing her mistake, fixed it by saying to Izana “My nose is held high!” (鼻が高い hana ga takai), which is a literal translation of an idiom that refers to being proud, so she is essentially saying “I’m quite proud of it!” “It” being her ability to calculate the total so quickly. She follows it up with “If I do say so myself” using boastful language (我ながら warenagara).

I went through many different possible ways to convey this joke. Flowers had to be kept as it was crucial that she kept her moonlighting as a flower vendor secret. So I cut her off at “flo” first, which could lead to the punchline at the end. I am well aware that the “flo” in flower and the word “flow” are said differently, meaning she would have said “flaaow” the first time, and “flouw” the second time. To compensate, while struggling to fix her mistake, she says “Um…I mean flow…” The reader can assume she meant the second pronunciation this time. It’s reinforced by Izana saying “Uh…flow?” Which then leads to the last part. Originally, Izana had said “Flower?” (asking for clarification) there, so the original content was not changed too much either.
