A branded who was born from the union of a Beorc and Laguz (lion). His brand mark is located on his left temple. He lives with fellow branded in a hidden village he founded within the Grann Desert (located within the northern part of the Begnion Empire). He’s a Swordmaster who wields the sacred sword known as the “Vague Katti.”
Due to his background, he has a negative opinion of both Beroc and Laguz –harboring a deep hatred for the Laguz especially. He appeared on a whim during the Mad King’s War, with no real plan or aim in mind. He witnessed Ike’s swordsmanship, feeling it was unpolished, and offered to train him as a second teacher. He treated it all as nothing more than an entertaining pastime for him.
His name comes from Soan, one of the blessed Three Heroes of the Goddess Ashera, as he is one of his direct descendants.

Notes:

• His profile confirms his lineage to Soan directly.
• Oddly, in English his name Stefan makes this connection a bit less obvious, as his name is very different than his Japanese name which contains “Soan” in it.

ベオクとラグズ（獅子）の間に生まれた「印付き」。印の位置は左のこめかみ。ベグニオン帝国の北に位置するグラーヌ砂漠に隠れ里を開き、「印付き」同士で暮らした。聖剣「ヴァーグ・カティ」と操るソードマスターでもある。
その出自からベオク、ラグズ双方をこころよく思っておらず、特にラグズに対して激しい憎しみを抱いている。デイン＝クリミア戦争に姿をあらわしたのは気まぐれであって、何か意図があったわけでない。アイクが剣の道半ばであることを見て取り、第二の師を買って出たのも、この時点では余興に過ぎない。
その名は、かつて女神アスタルテの加護を受けたといわれる「三雄」ソーンからとったもので、直系の子孫でもある。

私はソーンバルケ。人里はなれたこの地で隠者の真似事をしている。
