A warrior of Gallia under Ranulf’s command. He and Lethe meet up with Ike and company to escort them to Castle Gallia to speak with King Caineghis.
Unlike Lethe, Mordecai understands that King Caineghis is a believer in diplomatic relations with the Beorc, and leans toward this ideal much like Ranulf does.
However, Mordecai lost all control when Soren (who harbors hatred toward laguz stronger than Lethe’s hatred toward beorc) hurled insults like “filthy sub-human!” Mordecai attacked Soren, but Ike took the blow. (Naturally, Soren was furious. But when Ike confronted him by saying “If you hadn’t provoked him, none of this would have happened. Right?” he stood down).
At that moment, the Beorc and Laguz who were burdened by histories of being called “human” and “sub-human” brought their grudges to the fore. But, in this particular case, they were able to reconcile thanks to Ike’s influence. Though he had lost his father Greil just moments ago, Ike was already maturing to be a true mercenary commander.
