A swordsman from Daein. He disagrees with the public opinion in Daein which is in favor of oppressing the Laguz. He enlisted in a “sub-human hunting vigilante group” with the intention of secretly aiding the Laguz.  His deep emotional attachment with Laguz comes from a relationship he shared with a female Laguz a long time ago. She eventually died, leaving a deep hole in his heart, as can be discerned through conversations with Brom and Muarim.
He found a chance to leave the vigilante group and become a member of the Greil Mercenaries after meeting Lethe.

Notes

• “Begnion” is not a translation mistake, it is stated in the book. Despite Zihark’s in-depth profile saying he is of Daein. The reason for this is because those profiles are taken from the original character profiles, where as the game notes are from the final version. Therefore, it is possible Zihark was originally from Begnion, but adjusted to be from Daein in the final product.
